OVERVIEW
This program is designed to help out our IEC of Oregon members during a time of shifting workforce needs. When a contractor has a surplus of good people that he/she would like to keep when work is slow, they can be offered to other contractors as part of a short term lending program. Notification can be made through the IEC of Oregon office or directly to a contractor wishing to utilize the program. The information will be maintained in an active format for a maximum of 30 days, or until we are notified that the individual has been hired, whichever comes first.

IEC of Oregon members may use their passcode to enter the Members-Only page to access forms and instructions for the Borrowed Worker Program.  If you need more information, please contact Cindy Regier, Executive Director, at cindy@iecoregon.org.

NOTE:  IEC of Oregon will simply act as a clearing house and maintain a list of contractors interested in considering such a program, which it will make available to any contractor member upon request, as a member service. However, IEC will accept no role and take no responsibility for arranging placements, suggesting referrals, setting terms of engagement, or otherwise becoming involved in agreements reached between interested contractors.

IEC of Oregon has been the voice of the merit shop for over forty years. We advocate for the non-union shop on a local, state, and national level, weighing in on any new legislative or regulatory measures that may impact our members.  This includes working with the Department of Labor to make sure that any apprenticeship rules and standards apply fairly to merit shop contractors.  We take a stand against anti-competitive project labor agreements that halt fair, competitive bidding on public projects. We fight to make sure that these regulations are unbiased, safe and do not place unnecessary burden on contractors. To learn more, CLICK HERE.

Our national Codes and Standards Committee has a direct impact on shaping the standards for the electrical industry. IEC National has a representative that sits on every code panel.  We have two members that sit on each of the nineteen panels of the National Fire Protection Association’s (NFPA) 70 National Electrical Code (NEC). In addition, we work closely with the International Association of Electrical Inspectors and the National Electrical Manufacturers Association to make sure there is a voice advocating for the industry and the merit shop.

When you join IEC of Oregon, you’re supporting the merit-shop business and the continued success of the electrical industry.
